Lot`s description on the eBay
When you decide with product, that will be put on sale, and its price, you should compose an effective description that will attract potential Customers and increase product`s popularity.
It`s very important to describe a product you propose with maximal fullness and accuracy and honestly tell about defects and issues. If you hide some information of that kind, a Customer after getting a product and finding out that it is not suitable to the description can take their money back with use of a “Dispute” and make you a negative recall. This can effect on your potential Customer`s trust. If your description is cardinally misrepresented, Customer, that have bought a product, can offend you in fraud and make a complaint to the eBay`s administration, and after that your account can become an object of the investigation, and then closed without the right of recovery.
In preparation to the writing of a “Lot`s description” – short articles that will show advantages and disadvantages of your product – try to think as a Customer. What information you would like to get to make a bet or buy a product? Your description should be based on this. Information concerning color, structure, size (or weight), the manufacturer, year of manufacture, condition (new, used, broken), and any other information that will add uniqueness to your product and, as a consequence, popularity among customers, is obligatory for a description. But remember that all information must be stated truthfully and accurately.
Many novices in selling are often mistakenly use in their lot`s descriptions popular search terms like “rare”, “antique”, “antiquarian”, in hope to raise interest for their products. However, it is not recommended to use them and mislead consumers if the product does not meet the criteria that apply to those terms. It will only frustrate and discourage them from your products. But if the product is really rare – do not forget to mention it in the title and description.
Description is one of the ways of communication and a great chance to gain wholesale and permanent customers. Do not scare them by exaggeratedly demanding conditions regarding payment and delivery. Make the tone of describing friendly and professional.
Your description must also include accepted methods of payment (the more – the better), cost of delivery (must be within reasonable limits), and it is desirable to mention returning conditions (return policy – a common standard that allows the Customer to return the products within, for example, 14 days and get money back, minus the cost of delivery. If this point is presented in the description, it will significantly increase your credibility).
Do not use at all, or use with extreme caution in the title and description the emotional «!!! WOW !!!», «@@ GREAT @@», «## FANTASTIC ##», etc. Customers do not use these words in searching of the product, so that would be wiser to add a few keywords instead of them. Consider what words, frequently used in search, would Customers use to search for your product and add them to the description and / or title.
When you finish work on the description, do not rush to put a lot on auction. Carefully check it several times. Description full of grammatical errors will not inspire confidence in potential Customers.
